Mu Ko Angthong National Park consists of 42 islands. Its main islands are Phaluai Island, Wua Chio Island, Wua Talap Island, Mae Ko Island.
Angthong, translates as 'golden bowl', occupies almost 250 sq km and includes 50 sq km of limestone islands and karsts topography which rise from the sea as dramatic rock cliffs and bizarre rock formations. Caves, hidden lagoons and white sand beaches are there to be explored, kayaking and snorkelling among the shallow coral gardens makes a popular and fascinating day trip.
All of the islands are close to each other making a breathtaking panorama sailing around the park. All the islands are of different sizes and shapes. Most of them are covered with tropical forests and named after their distinguishing geography, a kind of descriptive appellation, such as 'Sleeping Cow Island' and 'Three Pillar Island'
Mae Ko (Mother Island) is a must to visit. Here, an emerald seawater lake in the middle of the island is encircled on all sides by limestone cliffs, but linked by an underground tunnel connecting with the sea. Reaching the lake entails a short climb of 10 minutes or so, but is rewarded with a spectacular view across the whole park.
Most of the islands consists of limestone mountains about 10-400 meters above sea level. Because the limestone can change its structure easily by both chemical condition and weather, the islands have many, strange-looking caves and cliffs, and some islands look like ancient Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Prasart Hin Pimai. |

Koh Phangan is the largest of Samui's neighbouring islands with an area of 168 square km. The island has numerous heavenly white sand beaches and secluded bays all along its coastline, some of them reachable only by a boat cruise. Over 3/4 of the island is mountainous tropical forest and a large part of it is classified as "national park" by Thailand. This allows the island to keep its natural and untamed character.
Koh Ma has the best Koh Phangan snorkelling and you will be able to jump in the water and enjoy the amazing soft coral and multicoloured fish in the warm water. Our professional guide will assist first-time snorkelers, and will point out the best places to spot marine life.
The next stop is at “Tong Nai Pan” there is plenty of time for swimming and exploring the shore at this beautiful beach. After enjoying the double bays, we will continue to the south of Koh Phangan to Than Sadet bay, there you will be able to visit the waterfall. After a short climb onto some big rocks, you can jump into the fresh water pool at the base of the waterfall and then dry off on the huge granite rocks. The river and waterfalls were once visited by Their Majesties King Rama V, VII and IX who carved their initials on the huge granite rocks that grace this river. This has become one of the most tranquil and popular places on the island to visit and relax.
Last stop Haad Rinn beach, famous for its full moon party that takes place each full moon.
